Nigerian popular singer, Lanre Fasasi, who was better known as Sound Sultan, is dead.
The singer died after a long-drawn battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
News of his death was announced in a statement on Sunday by Dr. Kayode Fasasi, on behalf of the Fasasi family.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan.
“He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
His death came barely two months after it was reported that Sound Sultan had been diagnosed with cancer and was receiving treatment in the United States.
